The Latest on Carowinds' New Parking + Fury 325

Along with the massive addition to the park known as Fury 325, Carowinds is also spending big bucks to totally change the entrance to the property.  And I mean well before the main gates - seen above is concept art for Carowinds' new parking tolls, expanded to handle more cars more quickly.  It also features an updated design that is easy on the eye.

Here is a recent shot of the new area under construction; as you can see the park has made a ton of progress really quickly.  Work on this entire part of the project just started earlier this summer!  The park has stated that they plan on opening these new parking gates for the end of the 2014 season, proving where there is a will there is a way.

As far as Fury 325 construction goes, Carowinds also recently showed off this gigantic footer that is used as the base of the ride's 325 foot tall lift hill.  The first piece of lift track will have a segment attached to it that will be bolted to the above footer, with the lift hill motor residing on the top of it.  The park is digging and pouring footers at a quick pace these days, with new footers popping up all the way out to the ride's first turn area, if not further.  You can see some recent photos over on Carowinds Connection, with more to come soon.
