Kentucky Kingdom Announces 2014 Attendance Results + 5 New Rides in 2015

Kentucky Kingdom isn't quite done with their 2014 season but is already happy to tell of their return-season success, along with what's planned for 2015.

The park, which sat closed for five or so years after Six Flags abruptly abandoned the park, saw around 600,000 visitors in 2014 and sold well over 100,000 season passes.  Over 40 million dollars were spent to get the park back into operating shape, and many new rides, a roller coaster, and a huge water park expansion were completed.

Next year the park will have a longer operation season that will see the park open much earlier than it did this year.

The park also spilled the beans on five attractions that will be new at Kentucky Kingdom in 2015.  Another 8-10 million dollars will be spent to return three existing rides into service, and open two brand new ones.

T2, a Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster will reopen in 2015, bringing the park's operating coaster count up to four.  The park posted on their Facebook page that T2 will be renamed T3 and feature all new trains and a bright new paint job.

The park's river rapids ride, which once was home to some neat Batman theming, along with the park's Enterprise flat ride will also be fully refurbished and reopened.

The two new rides will be certain to give a thrill to the park's visitors.  Seen above is the base of the Skycatcher, a 130 foot tall swing ride that will be placed on the North side of the park.  Also new is Cyclos, a swinging pendulum ride that fully inverts riders as it completes 360 degree revolutions.  Cyclos will be located behind the park's newly added Flying Scooters, on part of the old wild mouse pad.

Kentucky Kingdom has already swapped out their current park map for this new one that reflects the changes and additions for 2015.  Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we still have the reopening of Twisted Twins to look forward to in 2016!

Congratulations to the park on their successful first season, we hope to see them prosper even more in the future!
