New Words of Fun's Expansion Renders + Park Update

© Worlds of Fun
Worlds of Fun has been busy this winter getting ready to celebrate their 40th anniversary, which also marks the first time that the theme park and Oceans of Fun, the water park, will be combined under one admission ticket.

To celebrate the milestone the park is performing a huge renovation of Oceans of Fun, and also adding a Dinosaurs Alive! attraction.  With the parks now combined as one and a new attraction in each this is sure to be an exciting year for the park.

Just released are the two renderings shown here of the 'new' Oceans of Fun.  Up top is an overhead view that shows all the water park has to offer, including some new additions this year.

The second shot is the huge new slide complex that has been added, featuring six separate slides including three different styles of attractions.  The slides have changed colors since the original announcement, and I think for the better!

The highest of the bunch are three trap-door slides name Predators' Plunge, which drop riders vertically into the chute, through a horizontal loop, and then downward toward the run out.  The yellow and purple Constrictor features two person rafts and some of the tightest turns on any slide out there.  Finally the two semi-enclosed tube slides named Shark's Revenge round out the list.

The park recently hosted an off-season tour so fans could see the work they have going on, you can check out some photos from the tour from Coaster Community.
